Whiledefinitelynotforeveryone,thismovieeffectivelycapturesJ.G.Ballard'sdifficultnovelofthesamename.Morevisualthanliteral,TheAtrocityExhibitionforcestheviewertore-thinktheartoffilmandofstorytelling.Iteffectivelycommunicatesinanewlanguagethatcausedsomewhosawittodeclarethatit'changedtheirlives'.Itchangedmineaswell,althoughI'mnotexactlysureinwhatway.AndwhileIcan'tsaythatIcompletely'got'thestory,thestorythatIgotwasfascinatingandonethatIcan'tforget.I'vesincereadthebookandthatcertainlyhelped,butitwasn'tnecessarytoenjoythefilm.ThisfilmstandsasoneofmyfavoritesalongsidethebestworksofKubrick,theCoenbrothersandHitchcock.
